I’ve written and illustrated a book inspired by my grandbabies. I started this project shortly after my fourth grandchild was born; We just celebrated her 6th birthday.

I wrote this book in about 20 minutes. And so, I gave myself a month to whip out the illustrations. All I can say is that I find it is easier to express my heart through my words than I do through my art.

I finished writing the forward for my book today. I am copying it here for you to read. I hope it encourages your heart. XO

I hope to soon share my book with you too.

Forward for How I See . . .

You are uniquely, you are divinely gifted and talented. There is no one else like you, no one else offers what you have to give. You are birthed into this world and you are here for a reason, for a purpose. And you are on an exciting journey of discovering who you are and the role you play within the circles you influence in your life.

Many beautiful and challenging choices lay ahead of you and each decision you make builds upon the other. And through your soaring and through your thudding, you will learn your strengths and you will learn the areas you need to grow; this is the human experience.

Others will speak over your life to work to define the person they see in you. But the most important voice to listen to is your own; your self-talk will empower or defeat. Be careful what you speak over your life - “for life and death are in the power of the tongue” Proverbs 18:21. What you speak has the ability to build up or to tear down; Speak what breathes life into your spirit, into your soul.

                        Be Humble
                                Be Strong
                                         Be Courageous

In times when you are uncertain as to what you should be speaking over your life, look to the words your Heavenly Father speaks over you and trust Him, for He says that you are:

                  Loved
                          Known
                                  Chosen
                                          Accepted
                                                     Valued
                                                             Able
                                                                   Strong
                                                                          Forgiven
                                                                                  His Workmanship
and you are . . .    Wonderfully Made

You are given the gift of life to live, to imagine, to create, to enjoy, to love, to grow into all you are created to be this side of Heaven.

I am cheering for you. And I pray for you too. Always remember - you are loved. You are loved . . . even when people love imperfectly for your Heavenly Father loves you with an everlasting love . . . this is your power through life - God’s sweet love for you.

Note to Dad and Mom: Proverbs 22:6 speaks to the uniqueness of the child(ren) God gifts into your care. “Train up a child in the way they should go, in keeping with their individual gift or bent, and even when they are old, they will not depart from it.”

This is a beautiful instruction for it denotes the development of the intimate relationship between the child and God, the child and their parents and the child with their self. We learn from and grow with one another as we spend time guiding, instructing, loving, honoring and respecting the God given gifts innate within each individual.

Growing up the oldest in a household of six children and raising four of my own, I felt grateful when time allowed for a bit of quiet. But, somehow I never quite grew accustomed to spending too much time alone. Solitude and creativity are synonymous if productivity is the goal. I confess, it requires acts of discipline on my part  in order to live creatively. The decisions I've made over the last several years, both professionally and personally, work to free up more time for my writing, drawing, painting and other artistic ventures. And the sacrifices I've made for this quieter, creative life are well worth the effort as I grow to enjoy a solace that produces outcomes from long-held creative dreams.

Guffaw Thru Life

It's such fun jumping on beds . . . and couches too and eating pie from the center before serving it to others. I love laughing and I appreciate people who make me.

Life is amazing with its possibilities. And, I am blessed by the wonderful people in my life and the liberty I have to pursue what brings me joy. In spite of life's griefs, there is peace and joy and love enough to fill all the spaces.

                                                      Zephaniah 3:17
"The Lord your God is in your midst, a Warrior who gives victory; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will renew you in His love, He will exult over you with songs of deliverance."
