Springtime in Alaska is waking to the day listening to the drone of outboards transporting fisherfolk up and down the Kenai River, it is watching the transformation of pussy willows morph into greenery for lady bugs and bumblers to alight upon, it is the time to pull the motorhome out of the shop to enjoy a road system no longer obstructed by snow and ice and if you are fortunate, it is the time to cast off from harbor to explore waterways and to enjoy the bounty of the sea.
Salubrious or adverse no matter the conditions, Alaskans gear up and . . . we’re off to play. And what better way to make merry than to spend a 13th birthday celebrating by pulling shrimp pots and popping balloons and laughing and dancing like wild things to loud music inside the small cabin of a 32’ vessel. With grey sky, low hanging clouds and the occasional sprinkle dripping down from above, the day shines bright on our smiling faces. Motoring up to a pod of seals taking their leisure on a buoy; we watch as they dive into the ocean and swim away. We enjoy the sights of waterfalls and flocks of seagulls and kayakers and glaciers and we enjoy the amazing company of both family and friends. Welcome Spring
