My brother wrote this song about our mother, about us, our family. He forwarded it to us yesterday in a group text which, as you can imagine, incited conversations about the past. We admitted to tears when we listened to Lost Soul and we thanked our brother for expressing feelings we all share.
Grief is a convoluted process filled with big emotions we grapple to understand. And often artistic, creative methods assist on the path to a clearer perspective. I am proud of how my brother is processing grief and grateful he is sharing his creative journey and that he is helping us to process our own sorrows.. I hope Lost Soul inspires you to find your own creative way to heal from the hard hits you too may be experiencing. As you listen, crank the volume, allow for tears, look up and open your heart to hope. Thank you to my brother for giving me permission to share his creation with you. It can feel vulnerable allowing others a look inside . . . especially during a season of grief.

you have to let go of what you thought should happen and live in what is happening." - Unknown |
AuthorAs a young adult, I believed there to be a point of arrival; a place where internal struggles with fear or anger or confusion give way to assurance and appropriate displays of passion and clarity of thought and direction. Where striving with relationships transform into understanding and acceptance and the propensity to self-protect shifts to trust and confident vulnerability. However, to my dismay, I was startled to learn, through a friend in her 80s, my perception was most definitely a misconception. Archives
