Legacy Of Beauty

Stories impact and we each have a unique narrative to share.

In March of 2018 I issued an invitation to over 20 individuals, whose stories I am fairly familiar with, requesting they interview for my Legacy Of Beauty video project. It wasn’t until 9 months later the following December that I recorded the first interview.

What I’ve learned through the process of collecting stories to create Legacy Of Beauty is that people are often reticent for they feel vulnerable discussing their perceptions on their own beauty; for accepting or rejecting ones own uniqueness plays out in choices we make. And, sharing these sometimes flying and sometimes thudding life stories is not always easy to reveal.

It is my hope that through viewing the stories these brave souls share in Legacy Of Beauty, you will discover a greater sense of and embrace your own uniqueness.

I dedicate this project to my beautiful grandbabies who inspired me to set to work collecting stories to share from these wise and wonderful people. And too, I dedicate Legacy Of Beauty to my grown babies who, without question, are absolutely beautiful - and to you the viewer.

I also want to express my sincere appreciation to the interviewees who’ve shared my vision and opened their hearts to this project. Your beauty amazes me.

I am a mover and a doer, which . . . does not leave much time for television viewing. I’ve been disconnected from cable, satellite, Netflix and whatever the latest viewing fad is, for many years - aside from a couple of months, quite some time ago, when I thought I’d give cable a try. However, after a few months of viewing “pleasure,” I determined I wasn’t missing out on a whole lot and I asked the cable guy to retrieve his black box.

But, a few years ago, during a visit to someone’s house, I was introduced to Create TV, and, I really enjoyed the programs. The television show's hosts cooked and traveled and gardened while sharing stories that connected them with their viewers. And it came to me . . . I can do that; I am capable of recording stories too.

So, I started brainstorming ideas I thought might inspire, encourage and provoke. I bought a camcorder and a camera and tripods and lights. And, I purchased a laptop with a movie application and also an external hard drive to store narratives. I started watching documentaries and How To videos and outlining story boards. And, I approached friends and family asking they “star” in my productions.

Making videos is a slow going, patience producing process - which I often equate with herding cats when attempting to rally my 'Stars.'  And I'm loving every moment. Stories bring people together. Stories connect us as we share intimate conversations on topics close to our hearts. Stories create community as we risk vulnerability and share our gloriously, messy lives with one another.

A Legacy Of Trust is my first attempt at creating and I hope this story will touch your heart and inspire your spirit.

I am working on other stories and upon completion, I will share these with you too .

Guffaw Thru Life

It's such fun jumping on beds . . . and couches too and eating pie from the center before serving it to others. I love laughing and I appreciate people who make me.

Life is amazing with its possibilities. And, I am blessed by the wonderful people in my life and the liberty I have to pursue what brings me joy. In spite of life's griefs, there is peace and joy and love enough to fill all the spaces.

"The Lord your God is in your midst, a Warrior who gives victory; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will renew you in His love, He will exult over you with songs of deliverance."
